Forget what you’ve been told about Open Days

We bet you’ve heard the golden rules of making the most of an open day; make sure you ask questions, speak to ambassadors, go to subject talks, have a plan.

Well, we’re here to tell you that you don’t need a plan, not always. Open days are an excellent opportunity to discover subjects you may not have thought about studying before.

Rather than going with a plan, we suggest you go in with an open mind and see where your interests take you.

Here are some subjects we offer that you may not have thought about. Find out more about them at our open day on June 23.

Become an international entrepreneur

Have you ever day-dreamed about working abroad and living somewhere a little warmer, or colder, if you’re that way inclined? Make it a reality with our International Business and Management degree.

Develop the skills you need to manage business operations in the global economy, launch a managerial career anywhere in the world or pursue entrepreneurial opportunities. Focus on marketing, human resources or finance through our diverse range of modules.

Discover lost worlds

Fancy traveling but doing something a little different? Well, imagine discovering lost cultures, cities and people with our degree in Archaeology. Our degree combines traditional archaeology with the practical application of scientific methods, taking archaeological sciences into a new age of discovery.

Our students are given the opportunity to take part in excavations across the planet through placements. Recently, some of our students took part in digs in Portugal and Slovenia.

Leave your mark on society

Would you rather focus on the future than the past? Why not discover a degree that will change the lives of generations to come?

Our degree in Civil and Structural Engineering allows you to master the conception, design, construction and maintenance of the built environment.

This includes all our major buildings, transportation systems, water supply and disposal systems, and all the infrastructure associated with power generation and distribution.

Leave your mark on society by creating safe, environmental and future-proof cities.

Contribute to peace on earth

Speaking of creating a better world, how would you like to contribute to peace on earth?

Our Applied Peace and Conflict Studies degree puts you in the heart of the debate and equips you with the knowledge and practical skills to make a real change in the world.

The chance to meet people of different backgrounds and experience is unparalleled and gives you the ideal opportunity to discover how you can make a change.

Change lives

Would you prefer to make a change closer to home? Study one of our excellent Nursing degrees to improve people’s lives in more ways than one.

Our Mental Health Nursing degree, for example, allows you to work with a multi-ethnic, diverse population to support people with mental health needs.

Our Nursing degrees lead to a professional nursing qualification and eligibility to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, so you can start making a difference as soon as you complete you degree.

Forget the plan…

There are so many subjects to choose from and we believe the best way to discover them is at an open day. Book on to our Open Day on 23 June now to discover where your journey could take you.
