Ghada Zain, MPharm (Hons) Pharmacy

Being a Student Ambassador and having the opportunity to do different things. I love being able to help A-level students make an informed choice about what they want to study. I love being able to work alongside academics and learn about their different roles and what goes on behind the scenes. I love being encouraged participate and take on new and exciting projects.

Being an Ambassador has helped me make friends, build my network and develop many key skills that helped me grow as a person as well as a future healthcare professional.

Duaa Abdulal, BSc (Hons) Clinical Sciences

The best thing about being a student in general is the people that you meet but at the University of Bradford, you’re lucky because you get to meet so many incredible people. Not only do you meet people at the University but you can also get out into the community and there are so many opportunities out there for students.

Working with the African Caribbean Achievement Project has been one of my favourite university experiences because I’ve loved getting more involved in the local community, whilst becoming more educated on the different cultural backgrounds of the people in Bradford.

Esther Ikejie, MPharm (Hons) Pharmacy

The opportunities given to the students for their voices to be heard, through robust feedback systems such as surveys, faculty reps, student reps, the Student Staff Liaison Committee (which is unique to the School of Pharmacy, but sounds very sophisticated so I had to include it too haha) etc., as well as numerous University campaigns (i.e. This is Bradford) with students at the heart.

Studying at Bradford allows me to escape the high-life and busy city life of which I can easily enjoy in neighboring cities such as Leeds and Manchester, whilst enjoying the rich culture of the diverse ethnicities and nationalities at the University.

Bryan Tsui, MPharm (Hons) Pharmacy

One of my favourite things about being a student at Bradford is the diversity on campus. The University is home to many international students. The staff and Student Ambassadors from the international student department were very helpful to provide information on campus navigation, assistance on enrolment and an opportunity to listen to one of the Ambassadors talk about their experience as a student at the University of Bradford, provided an insight to prepare myself for the next year.

More importantly, the academic staff are friendly and helpful to new students and give time to answer any queries students may have. I also personally like the Team Bradford Festival that runs annually after the exam period, where staff and students come together to compete in sports, gather around to enjoy the atmosphere with a wide variety of food options.

Zoya Naz Raja, BSc (Hons) Computer Science

The best thing about being a student for me is the various opportunities that have come my way. I truly believe if I was at another university, I would not have done or achieved half of what I have.

Bradford has offered me the opportunity to grow, whilst still having the comfort of home.
