Who are you supposed to be?

Hello to anyone and everyone who may be reading this! My name is Thomas Harding, and I’ve just finished my second year of Product Design at the University of Bradford.
I’m from Banbury, a town near Oxford, and I made the move ‘Up North’ after studying Design Technology, Maths, Music and Physics at A-Level. It was a bit scary at first – coming to university was the first time I’d been away from home on my own for any significant amount of time! – but I soon made friends and settled in, and was able to look after myself quite well.

I’ve learned a lot from my course so far, and look forward to learning more still and putting my newfound skills to good use. I chose the Product Design course at Bradford because it offered a good balance of the different ‘faces’ of design – the art-based, outward appearance of a product, and the engineering-based inner workings. Bringing these different aspects of design together helps to ensure that my work not only looks good, but also functions well.

Outside of study, I enjoy reading, photography, video games, and listening to and playing music. I’ve played guitar for about 7 or 8 years now, and have been part of a local band – Punch Drunk Monkey Club – since 2011. I also mess around with instrumental music on my own. Hey, if a career in design doesn’t work out for me, I can always be a rockstar instead!

That’s a bit about me. I’ve got more posts to come, so hopefully you’ll stick around to see more.
