Once again there was an educational circus and science fusion at the British Science Festival.
Today, Gary the Musical Clown entertained and educated some local primary school children and their teachers with an interactive sound workshop.
The workshop, Good Vibrations, explored how sounds are produced by anything that vibrates, wobbles or shakes.
The attentive young audience were asked to identify some favourite childhood songs, which Gary performed on his circus bells, there was singing and clapping, and various funny objects and gadgets were used to explore sound and vibration. The event culminated with a circus style musical competition.
On combining the circus and science Gary commented: “While they’re having fun they’re actually picking up the information without realising perhaps that they’re learning at the same time.”
Gary the Clown travels around the UK and abroad doing both educational and family shows, mixing entertainment and education.
