Welcome to the University of Bradford! As a new student, thinking about your career right now may well be bottom of the list as you get to know your classmates, accommodation and get to grips with your lessons and coursework (not to mention Fresher’s week).
It’s worth paying us a visit sooner rather than later though, as we might be able to help you with things you hadn’t necessarily considered.
So with that in mind, here’s are list of 10 things we can do for you:
We offer a dedicated jobs database, advisors to help you find and apply for part time jobs, and a weekly student jobs list, all designed to assist you in securing a job for alongside your studies.
2) CV checks:
We offer a drop in service every day from 10-12 and 1 -3 for CV checks and general careers queries
Our brand new 64-page full colour booklet Your Guide To… Getting a job features all the information you need about getting a job – collect yours from careers reception or find the interactive version online.
4) Workshops:
Weekly careers-related workshops on a wide range of topics, often featuring guest speakers from business and industry.
5) Work experience placements:
Summer Experience programme for undergraduates and graduate internships, along with help to find and apply for other sandwich year placements and internships.
6) Advice on postgraduate study:
Finding the right course for you, and how to apply.
Resources, workshops and advice from Careers Advisers to assist you in finding a graduate career.
8) Careers fairs:
We organise three careers fairs a year, featuring lots of different opportunities from a range of local, national and international employers.
9) Interview prep:
Mock Interviews and general interview preparation via Career Adviser appointments
10) Mentoring:
Gain an insight into your chosen career through one-on-one interactions with a mentor.
