It wasn’t until we got a call over the bank holiday weekend that we discovered we’d be playing a part in Gordon Brown’s final day of campaigning in the general election but it was an honour to welcome him and Sarah to the University. Before addressing staff and students in a packed Atrium, Mr Brown visited the centre for Polymer Micro and Nano Technology, a facility within the world-class Polymer laboratory based at the University. I was also particularly pleased that some of our students had the opportunity to ask the Prime Minister questions before he left to continue his final day of campaigning.
As many of you will have seen, a Prime Ministerial visit brings with it a small army of people as well as a large media presence but it was the hard work of staff from right across the University who ensured that our visitors and those who will no doubt watch on TV, saw the University of Bradford at its very best. Thank you to all involved.
