A number of demonstrations against the planned cuts to higher education funding will be taking place in London and elsewhere across the country tomorrow.
The University is allowing students to miss scheduled learning activities to attend these demonstrations. However, attendance at demonstrations will not be considered extenuating circumstances for missed or delayed assessments.
Any staff wishing to attend must either use annual leave or take unpaid leave. The University has stated that any time off is subject to operational and workload commitments and must be authorised in advance by managers, however, they would not expect any manager to unreasonably refuse any request for time off to take part in the demonstration.
