The British Science Festival that we have hosted at Bradford over the last six days has been a great success and a real showcase for the work of the University. It highlighted some of the tremendous scientific research being carried out by colleagues across the University and helped to send important messages about science and education to the communities in the district . It provided a marvellous opportunity for us at the University to demonstrate to an international press and TV audience what we can do.
I know that the British Science Festival team were delighted with the warmth and enthusiasm of the welcome they found at the University. The success of the event was down to an enormous amount of hard work by staff and students across the university and I’d like to thank all those who helped and took part in the events of the last week for their hard work. The Festival last came to Bradford in 1900 – I am convinced that after the show that the University put on it won’t be 111 years before it returns!
