Improving our Building Energy Performance

So how we do measure the success of Ecoversity? One way is to look at the energy performance of our buildings, as part of government legislation introduced in 2008 we are required to arrange for display energy certificates (produced by accredited assessors) to be displayed in all our buildings over 1000m2.

Over the last 12 months we have made improvements to the way we heat, light and power many of our buildings, this together with greater awareness amongst staff and students has helped to improve the energy rating of many of our buildings.

You can now view the link to DECs on this website.  Please see the Links Menu.

The University has a five year target to have no buildings with a DEC’s rating of less than “D”, an aspiration to increase this to “C”, and achieve a minimum of at least one building being “A”.
