‘He’s a Jolly Good Fellow’ for the Institution for Engineering and Technology

“Dr Rami Qahwaji, a Reader within the Department of Creative Technology and the Centre for Visual Computing, has just become a Fellow of the Institution for Engineering and Technology (IET).

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is a world leading professional society for the engineering and technology community, with more than 150,000 members in 127 countries.  The IET, which dates back to 1871, represents the engineering and technology profession in matters of public concern and advices the UK government and Parliament on all related areas.

Fellowship of the IET (FIET) is awarded to members who have demonstrated superior individual responsibility, sustained achievement, significant professionalism and outstanding service to the profession.

The FIET status is a prestigious recognition of the significant technological innovations and original research resulting in international recognition carried out by the individual (and hence his/her organisation).
