The 12th Learning, Teaching & Assessment Conference takes place on Wednesday 10 July and I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to submit an abstract.
The theme for the conference is “Inspiring Student Engagement” – a key feature of our approach to enhancing student success. As highlighted by the Higher Education Academy Student Engagement
“encompasses ways in which students become active partners in shaping their learning experience. This ranges from students influencing national policy on learning and teaching, to students developing their own individual learning agendas. In between there are examples of students engaging in institutional and departmental discussion on curriculum design and delivery.”
(Higher Education Academy, 2012).
Recognising that there are many outstanding examples of how members of University staff have created innovative approaches to engage students I see this year’s conference as an ideal forum for colleagues to share best practice. I hope that you will be able to find time to submit a proposal before the 8th April closing date.
