Pharmacy Simulation Special Interest Group

Calling all Pharmacy staff….with an interest in simulation!

As some of you may already be aware, Dr Helen Vosper and Mrs Alyson Brown from the School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, Robert Gordon University, have been organising a Special Interest Group in Pharmacy Simulation.

I met with Helen and Alyson at a simulation conference in November, along with colleagues from elsewhere in the UK, and spent some time with them discussing the different ways in which we all used simulation to teach Pharmacy. They are both very enthusiastic about bringing together and sharing the ideas and good practice found across the different institutions, and the development of this new group should lead to stronger links with colleagues from other Pharmacy schools who also use simulation.

I am hoping that by working with Helen, Alyson, and other members of the SIG, I will be able to share experiences with colleagues and possibly bring innovative ideas back to our Pharmacy programme, to enhance our L&T experience.

The group will hopefully be organising a newsletter as an introduction to the SIG by the end of March, so watch this space!
