sOoOoO….. Hi!
You know that feeling when you’re like “oh wait this is it!”. This is one of them ones because here I am, right here, representing more than 14000 students, putting their interests before mine, as your elected Activities Officer 2016/2017.
So I got back from home about 2 weeks ago, I flew across the world. 16 hours’ flight journey and 2 hours’ bus ride later; I am finally back in Bradford. My summer holiday was short, I went to Bali, Singapore and Jakarta. And you might not know this but as an international student, I don’t get to see my family often. Twice a year if I am lucky (or can afford it) but these few years, once a year is enough. It is what it is. I have to grow!
Training started last week. I would go into details on what we have done so far but it will bore the hell out of you. It is quite exciting for us though cause we got to meet the big man on campus aka Mr. Vice Chancellor, the heroes aka the SMTs, the k00l k1dz aka UBU Staff Team and ooooh! the rivalry, Huddersfield Sabb officers! (if you’re wondering, no, their activities officer is not that guy anymore)
Anywayssss, yes, The Lit Year has finally arrived. It has not been an easy journey for me to get to where I am now, and it certainly is not going to get easier. Next week, the sabbs and 3 staff members are off to NUS Conferences and SU Awards in Liverpool. And of course with pride, we are so excited to represent Bradford University as Sabbatical Officers because…. UBU is Love, UBU is Life.
