Each year we offer assistance to local graduates who are looking to improve their work experience before embarking on their graduate careers through these 10-week paid internships at SMEs throughout the region.
We work with employers and our graduates through all elements of the process, from advertising and recruitment to get the right graduates for each internship through to advice on creating the project brief for employers. Plus, we issue the employment contracts and deal with payroll for all projects.
Previous companies involved in the scheme range from large organisations such as Yorkshire Water and the University of Bradford, SMEs such as Day One Technologies, Emmark UK, Enable 2 and ATM Events and charities such as Bradford Trident.
Student projects have included research, marketing, web development, clinical lab-based, health audit, IT and e-learning.
Elaine Teal, Director at Day One Technologies:
“More than just technical skills, we’re looking for people with a positive attitude- people who are happy to get stuck in and work as part of team towards the same goal, and we have quite a few Bradford graduates who have progressed from internships to being part of the team – we are a growing business and we’re looking for good people.”
How you can help: If you have a project that would benefit from a motivated recent graduate, then get in touch – funding of up to 40% is available depending on size, project and sector. See more: https://www.brad.ac.uk/careers/business/bgi/
